The text of the International Standard IEC 60674-3-7:1992, prepared by SC 15C, Specifications, of IEC TC 15, Insulating materials, was submitted to the formal vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 60674-3-7 on 1998-04-01 without any modification.

INTRODUCTION
This International Standard is one of a series which deals with plastic films for electrical purposes.
The series consists of three parts:
Part 1: Definitions and general requirements (IEC 674-1).
Part 2: Methods of test (IEC 674-2).
Part 3: Specifications for individual materials (IEC 674-3).
This standard contains one of the sheets comprising part 3, as follows:

1 Généralités
1.1 Domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale donne les prescriptions relatives aux copolymères de tétrafluoroéthylène (TFE) et d'hexafluoropropylène (HFP), appelés conventionnellement fluoroéthylène-propylène (FEP) sous forme de films, avec ou sans traitement de surface pour rendre la surface collable et thermosoudable.
1.2 Références normatives
Les documents normatifs suivants contiennent des dispositions qui, par suite de la référence qui y est faite, constituent des dispositions valables pour la présente Norme internationale. Au moment de la publication, les éditions indiquées étaient en vigueur. Le film constitué de doit être des types suivants:
Type 1: Usage géneral
Type 2A: A traitement sur une face*
Type 2B: A traitement sur les deux faces*
2 Désignation
Le film en matière plastique doit être identifié par la désignation suivante:
Désignation du film - IEC 674-3-7 - FEP - type - épaisseur en micromètres - largeur en millimètres - longueur en mètres - couleur.

1.1 Scope
This International Standard gives the requirements for copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP), conventionally described as fluoroethylene-propylene (FEP), as films, with or without surface treatments to render the surface cementable and heat sealable.
